Iron Woman

Since the early 2000's, Anime has taken over American television, affecting young minds in North America. Unlike modern day cartoons. What makes it so popular where kids love it to adulthood?

Engineer, Working Mom, Iron Woman

Q. What shows were the gateway for Americans to start loving it?

A. During the early 90's anime started a strong push from Japan and entering into American culture. Most people during this time really started becoming fans of Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z. As we enter into the late 90's and early 2000's Pokemon ad Digimon hit our televisions and toy stores heavy with trading cards and video games.

Q. What made it so popular in the early ages.?

A. What made these cartoons stand out from others in the early stages is because of the creativity and violence they showed. The plot and stories of these cartoons was not focused on just that episode but on a whole storyline that lasted for series. Keeping kids at the edge or their seat wondering what was going to happen tomorrow.

Q. Why do adults stay committed fans of this genre of cartoons?

A. As anime became more popular, it opened up more doors of more edgy cartoons. This introduced more cartoons that swayed more towards PG-13 and R rated. This was something that no network was brave enough to do or create early on. With this style there were more nudity, cursing and the creation of there worlds were so advanced far beyond a child's comprehension.
